Getting started

Updated October 24, 2026

ParcelKite needs WordPress 6.0 or newer, PHP 7.4 or newer and WooCommerce 8.0 or newer. It works with the new order storage (HPOS) and with classic orders.

1. Install the plugin

  1. Download the plugin zip from the link in your order email, or from My account ▸ Licenses.
  2. In WordPress go to Plugins ▸ Add New ▸ Upload Plugin, choose the zip and click Install Now, then Activate.

On activation ParcelKite creates a Track your order page (or reuses your existing tracking page) and, if you used another shipment tracking plugin before, imports its data in the background and switches that plugin off.

2. Activate your license

Go to ParcelKite ▸ Settings ▸ License, paste the license key from your order email and click Activate. The license turns on automatic tracking, shipment emails, SMS, PayPal sync and updates. Local and staging sites don’t use up a site of your plan.

3. Check the settings

Open ParcelKite ▸ Settings and review:

  • Order statuses – Shipped, Partially shipped, Delivered and Updated tracking.
  • Emails – which shipment emails customers get.
  • Automatic tracking – on by default.
  • SMS and PayPal – off until you set them up.

4. Add your first tracking number

Open an order, enter the tracking number in the Tracking box and save. ParcelKite detects the carrier, emails the customer and starts following the parcel. See Adding tracking numbers for faster ways.
