This policy explains how Varity Ventures (“we”, “us”), 2453 Coho Way, Oakville, Ontario, L6M0G7, Canada, collects and uses personal information on www.parcelkite.com and in connection with ParcelKite licenses. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for visitors from the European Union and the United Kingdom, the GDPR.
What we collect
- Account and order information: name, email address, billing address, company and tax number if you give one, the plans you buy and your order history.
- Payment information: payments are handled by our payment providers (for example Stripe or PayPal). We receive confirmation of the payment and limited details such as the card type and last four digits, never the full card number.
- License information: when the plugin checks its license, it sends the license key, the site’s domain, a random install ID and the plugin version to our license server at kiteplugins.com (operated by us). Nothing about your store’s orders or customers is sent.
- Free trials: your name and email address, to send you the license key and the download link.
- Support: the messages you send us and what you include in them.
- Technical information: IP address, browser and device information in server logs, kept for security and to prevent abuse.
How we use it
- To provide what you bought: licenses, downloads, updates, renewals and support (contract).
- To send you emails about your orders, licenses and trials (contract), and – only if you agreed – news about our products, which you can unsubscribe from at any time (consent).
- To keep the site and the license system secure and prevent fraud (legitimate interest).
- To keep accounting and tax records (legal obligation).
We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and measurement
We use cookies that the site needs to work (your cart, checkout and login). If you agree, we also use analytics and advertising cookies – for example from Google – to understand how visitors use the site and to measure our advertising. You can change your choice at any time in your browser.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that help us run the business, under contracts that protect your information: hosting, payment providers, email delivery, and analytics or advertising services if you agreed to them. Some of them process information outside Canada (for example in the United States); in that case your information may be accessible to authorities there under local law.
How long we keep it
Order and license records: as long as your account exists and for the period required by tax law (in Canada generally six years). Trial sign-ups: until the trial is over, then deleted unless you became a customer. Server logs: up to 90 days.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, withdraw your consent, or – under the GDPR – object to processing or ask for a copy in a portable format.
